Feb (Mid March, actually) 2026 Portfolio Update

Hi,

Portfolio Returns: 3.13%

STI: 4.49%

S&P: -1.56%

Tracker (HSI-like): 0.41%

Transactions:

Modest but initial purchase of MNRO. This is a coat tail off Carl Icahn's idea.

Modest, initial purchase of Charter Communications. Piggy back off Mr. Steve Eisman's idea.

Sizable disposal of Clifford Modern Living. I cannot agree with the management's decision to dabble in precious stones.

Slight reduction in Nanyang Holdings. This stock has done nothing for my portfolio

Very sizable amount of Goldlion. Goldlion is now my 2nd biggest position.

Reasonable increase in Kwan Yong. It is in my top 5 position.

With my CPF, I bought Genting Singapore and Powermatic Holdings. Genting seems to be on a decline.

It had been an eventful month and a half.

It took me a long time to emerge from the negativity imposed (self-imposed?) by my feelings at work, the pressures of studying for RES-3 (I thought it would help me in other careers, it is just a small step), and small issues with mum health.

It had been quite tough for me. I don't want to meet or talk to anyone. I just want to hide in my own small little corner. Sometimes I cried for no reason in public...

I dunno if I have really get out of this state completely. This evening, mum's shingles seems to be coming back (there are some red spots again), and mum is terribly against seeing the doctor. Let's see how it goes tomorrow.

I passed my RES3 exam a couple of days ago. I am not proud of it. Not just because it is a small paper (it is still tough for me to study), but a lot of it is memorization work, trying to understand and remember intricacies with the SFA (Securities and Futures Act).

I guess there are like 5 other papers to go, including the monstrous RES5 which one should really study if he is in finance. I am not. I am just a lowly technical support staff.

But I am still grateful I passed. I think I prefer to study something more technical and practical.

Sorry for the brief update, but that is pretty much what I have this month.
